◦ Workers in the construction industry may need to pass the SEC(K) test

◦ For CMP sectors, workers must come from source countries approved by the MOM

➢ Post a job ad on VideoWorkers and select from the candidates who applied or search the database directly

➢ After finding a good match, conduct the interview and make a job offer, then sign an employment contract

➢ Steps to follow: 

1. Declare your business activity via Work Pass Account Registration (WPAR) 

◦ Processing time: 2 days 

2. Get written consent to apply for a work pass on behalf of the worker

3. Fill out the online application via Work Permit (WP) Online 

◦ Required documents: 

▹ Photocopy of the worker’s passport

▹ Copies of the worker’s education diplomas and professional certificates

▹ A copy of the company’s profile from the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA)

▹ Evidence that the company is paying employees’ CPF contributions

➢ Processing fee: $35 

➢ Processing time: 1 week

➢ Steps to follow: 

1. Submit a pre-entry housing check form

2. Book a slot at the Onboard Center

3. Purchase a security bond

4. Purchase medical insurance 

5. For workers in the CMP sectors: purchase a Primary Care Plan (PCP) 

6. For workers engaged in manual labor and those earning up to $2,600 per month: purchase work injury compensation insurance

7. Complete and sign the security bond form

8. Use the OFWAS service to register your worker’s residential address and phone number

9. Print the work permit application form and the in-principle approval (IPA) letter for migrant workers

➢ Log in to WP online and submit a request to get the work permit issued

➢ The obligation to pay the levy begins on the date when the work permit is issued  

➢ The monthly levy ranges between $300 and $700
