➢ Advertise the role in Australia for at least 4 weeks

➢ Go to https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/working-in-australia/skill-occupation-list and check if the position is on the list of eligible skilled occupations 

➢ If the position you want to fill is not on the list of eligible skilled occupations, you might be able to nominate a position

➢ Post a job ad on VideoWorkers and select from the candidates who applied or search the database directly

➢ Use the  Visa Entitlement Verification Online system (VEVO) to ensure your prospective employee can apply for a visa 

➢ After finding a good match on VideoWorkers, conduct the interview and make a job offer, then sign an employment contract

➢ Apply to become a Standard Business SponsorAccredited Sponsor, or Temporary Activities Sponsor  

➢ Requirements: 

◦ Maintain an Australian presence for a minimum of 6 months 

◦ Show evidence of certain revenue and cash flow

◦ Pay the Skilling Australians Fund (SAF) levy

➢ Application fee: AUD 420 

➢ Processing time: Between 1 week and 2 months on average

➢ Your future employee applies for a work visa at the competent Australian Embassy or Consulate

➢ Required documents vary by visa type, but in most cases, they must submit:

◦ Proof of skills and qualifications

◦ Proof of work experience 

◦ Medical checkup

◦ Skills assessment (for employees nominated for a position) 

◦ Criminal record 

➢ Application fee:  Depends on visa category 

➢ Processing time: Approximately 12 months
